Parenting comes with a lot of responsibilities and expectations. Every parent is expected to properly raise up their kids and ensure they follow the fight path. It is so sad that some parents follow the wrong path of child’s upbringing and end up raising terrorists and nuisances as a result of negligence.

Parents should catch them young and ensure they never go astray. It is through reading the Bible and abiding by commandments they get to learn about virtues and vices, avoid sins and embrace righteousness.

In child’s upbringing, ensure you carefully pick the words you use on your children and adequately avoid the use of harsh and abusive words on kids. You want to know why?? I will tell you. These kids depends on their parents for encouragement and support. When you keep using abusive words on these kids you destroy their self esteem and damage their self pride. Instead of abusing your kids, try cautioning them and encourage them in every right decisions they make.

Inculcate in your kids a good saving habit. Give them little allowances and teach them how to allocate a certain part to their piggy bank. Teach them independence and prevent them from totally depending on you. Kids from age 12 can provide some certain things for themselves without having to contact their parents.

The school you enroll your kids in matters alot. A sound education is the right of every child and as such, it is your responsibility to ensure your kids get the best education. Also ensuring they do well in school is important. Assist them with assignments, ensure they read their books, get them the right materials and ensure they watch educative television programs. Also be mindful of the friends they keep. Bad company they say, corrupts good manners.

Avoid abusing your children in the name of discipline. Alot of parents abuse this saying and use it to abuse their kids especially in Africa. Whips and canes are meant to be used on animals and not humans. There are other means of correcting kids when they go wrong.

It is good for parents to be a part in their children’s lives through engaging in healthy conversations. You get to be know the decisions they take in life, help them shape a brighter future. You also tend to know if they are being bullied, blackmailed or emotionally distressed. Maintaining a happy home matters a lot and it is essential to work towards it.
